The courses have stood up well during the very wet Christmas period and given the recent dry weather the overall condition and presentation is improving.
This week has been very productive; all greens have been pedestrian cut on two occasions along with a large amount of time repairing pitch marks today as a significant number are being left unrepaired and we have set aside time to get on top of the repair.
All holes have been changed on the putting greens and chipping greens.
Work has continued on the 3rd tee Highgate and with verti draining fairways on the Lodge course.
Today I have taken our first performance measurements of the year, I tested three greens on each course taking measurements of Firmness using a clegg hammer (pictured), moisture readings of the soil profile using a theta gauge and speed using the stimp meter.
The results of the performance testing will be included in a later post.
